Beginner’s Bird Walk at Camp Mabry

Birding in the summer doesn’t get much better that doing it at a “hot spot” in central Austin. On this 375 acre camp, there’s water, big Live Oaks and snags to attract nesting birds and local residents:  Summer Tanagers, vireos, flycatchers, goldfinches, N. Cardinals, woodpeckers, and Blue Jays. The bird walk is scheduled to end at 9:00 AM

Bring an ID to get in Camp Mabry’s gate and be sure to bring water, hat, and insect repellent.  Loaner binoculars will be available. Enter off 35th St. on to Maintenance Dr.  Look for Travis Audubon Leaders soon after passing through Entrance Gate for parking instructions.
