FIELD TRIP: Two hour Tuesday at Cedar Breaks Park with Dan Callaway

Spend a morning exploring the southeastern shore of Lake Georgetown in Williamson County. This is a great place to find Rock Wren and Canyon Wren. We will meet-up in an area outside of the park entrance near the Lake Georgetown spillway.  Directions:  From Austin, take I-35 north to Georgetown. Exit at Highway 29 (West University Avenue) and go west for about a mile.  Turn right on D.B. Woods Drive at a traffic light.  Go about 2 miles and look for a brown sign to Cedar Brakes Park.  If you cross the high bridge below the dam, you have gone too far.  At the brown sign, go west (left) about a mile to the dead end (“T” intersection).  Turn right and look for the marked parking area on the left side of the road where we will meet for the walk across the spillway to the dam. Note: Do not turn left at the “T” intersection.  No registration required.
