Berry Springs Park is located north of Georgetown. It has a flat trail that is paved in parts and is crushed granite in parts. It has a pond, a pecan grove, a large meadow as well as the wooded areas along Berry Creek. The various areas make Berry Springs a perfect habit for a variety of birds. We will hopefully see some of our year-round resident species as well as some that come to central Texas for the winter. We’ll look for woodpeckers, bluebirds, raptors and herons or egrets among others.
Restrooms are available, and there is a site review at https://www.birdability.org/ for anyone wanting info about accessibility features. (Birdability focuses on removing barriers to access for birders with mobility challenges, blindness or low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, have autism and other health concerns. Be welcoming and inclusive of diverse birders; learn about access considerations; find resources for birders who have)

The Beginners’ Bird Walk is held on the first Saturday of each month and is open to birders of all levels and ages. It’s free. It’s fun. Memberships is not required. Need binoculars? We’ve got loaners. The location is different each month.
