Commons Ford park is located in southwest Travis county on the banks of the Colorado River. It has 40 acres of restored native prairie that supports diverse wildlife and amazing grassland birds. We’ll be looking for some birds that winter in central Texas along with year-round residents. The trails are mostly grass or packed dirt and are fairly easy walking. All birding levels are welcome.

The Beginners’ Bird Walk is held on the first Saturday of each month and is open to birders of all levels and ages. It’s free. It’s fun. Memberships is not required. Need binoculars? We’ve got loaners.
