Beginner’s Bird Walk: McKinney Falls State Park

8:00 AM – 10:00 AM

Come listen to Onion Creek flowing over limestone ledges while looking for summer nesting birds and our local resident favorites. We’ll follow the creek on a mostly ADA compliant trail listening and looking for our avian friends.  In addition, there is a heron rookery along the path.

George Kerr and Judith Bailey are your leaders.

There is a $6 per person entry fee if you don’t have a Texas Parks pass.  Meet at the Smith Visitor Center.

See park map here.

The Beginners’ Bird Walk is held on the first Saturday of each month and is open to birders of all levels and ages. It’s free. It’s fun. Membership is not required. Registration is not required. Need binoculars? We’ve got loaners. The location is different each month. If the location for this month is not posted yet, check back later.
