Beginners’ Bird Walk: Richard Moya Park

7:30 AM – 9:30 AM

Come out for the Beginners’ Bird Walk at Richard Moya Park in southeastern Travis County. The 92-acre park on Onion Creek was once a pecan grove; and its gentle topography is typical of our Blackland Prairie. The park has a mix of riparian, grasses and large trees so it supports a variety of birds. We usually see Eastern Bluebirds and there has been a pair of Red-shouldered Hawks with a nest in the Park. We’ll look for year-round and summer resident birds.

The park has a wide concrete path that is mostly flat, so should be easy to navigate for all.
