Learn how to use native plants to support robust ecosystems and provide habitats for birds, butterflies, bees and more in your garden. In this four-part series, discover how ground cover, water features and lighting affect livability for wildlife.
This is a four-part Zoom series which will take place on Sundays, Sep. 8. 15. 22 and 29, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. via Zoom. There will be two optional morning field trips, dates TBD
All levels of gardeners welcome. No prior experience necessary.
Registration is limited to 35 people. Cost for the course is $60 for TAS members and $75 for non-members. Registrants will receive an email with the link for the Zoom meeting prior to the event.
About the Instructor: Ryan Fleming is an ecological landscape designer and consultant who has been working with native plants for nearly forty years. Ryan specializes in native plant designs focusing upon habitat restoration for pollinators, birds and other native wildlife. A passionate teacher, Ryan has a M.Sc. in Biology concentrated on wildlife and ecology. Ryan has volunteered with several local environmental entities, and served as a member of the City of Austin Urban Forestry Board for 8 years.
