Birdathon: Brushy Creek Champion Birding Belles

Saturday, April 6, 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
$25 per person, max. 20 people

Join Vidhya Sundar, TAS Board Member, Master Birder and Aarthi Madhusudhan, a local enthusiastic birder, for a Women Only Birdathon walk in Champion Park & Brushy Creek Lake Park. This walk will cover woodland, riparian, and grassland habitats.

We will start at Champion Park, a great place for the migrating warblers, raptors, and some resident birds, too. We will follow the slightly inclined trail to Brushy Creek Lake Park and get a look at the wetland habitat. Cormorants, ducks, kingfishers, egrets and gulls are expected. Bluebonnet fields are also an addition!

Bring your binoculars, and camera if you’d like. If you are a beginner and need a loaner binoculars, let the leaders know in advance so that it can be arranged. If you bring a lunch you can have a picnic at the shelters at Brushy Creek park. After this we can plan to drive down to the Brushy Creek Sports park side and interested people can continue birding there with the leaders.

Restroom available in all the parking areas. Wear comfortable shoes and sun protection. Bug spray is recommended as it is the season for bugs too.
