Join James Giroux to explore the Dowell Ranch in Manchaca (south Austin). This private former working ranch is now the headquarters for the Native Prairies Association of Texas. The ranch is 150 acres and contains a wide variety of habitat including small ponds, grassland, woodland, a spring and an old ranch house. On the March 6th field trip, we saw 47 species including a Great-horned Owl.
Be prepared to walk 2-3 miles on mostly flat terrain. Restrooms will be available at the headquarters, before we head out.
This walk is open to all levels of birders and is free, but registration is required and limited to 10 participants. Contact James at jamesagiroux@gmail.com with any questions.
