Fall Blair Woods Nature Day 2024

9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Join us on Saturday, November 16th at Blair Woods to celebrate nature and the arrival of springtime! We will have lots of fun activities and exhibits, as well as beautiful, accessible trails to explore throughout the preserve.

This event is free to attend and open to the public! Please see below for parking information.

— Event Activities 9:00 AM – 11:30AM —

Learn about the amazing creature that call our pond home. Go Dip netting and look at our fun friends under the microscope! Wear rain or waterproof boots to join in the search!

Attend a Plant Clinic with Travis County’s Master Gardeners and learn how you can make the plants in your backyard into suitable habitat for wildlife. There will be a fun activity for kiddos too!

Check out the Insect Collection from the University of Texas and check out the fun insects that live in and around Blair Woods.

Learn about the beautiful butterflies and moths that visit our butterfly garden with the Austin Butterfly Forum

Meet the Austin Wildlife Rescue team and learn about how they rehabilitate orphaned, sick and injured wild animal.

Join us for a free flight birds of prey demonstration featuring hawks, owls, falcons and vultures and more.

— Parking and Other Details —

For this public event, we encourage you to park in designated “visitor” parking spots next door at the Heritage Pointe apartments (1950 Webberville Rd, Austin, TX 78721). We’ll have signs and folks to help direct you.

There is a wheelchair accessible porta-potty onsite at Blair Woods, and we recommend bringing a filled water bottle from home. Closed-toe shoes and bug spray are recommended. Our newly renovated trails are wheelchair and stroller friendly, and other trails are mulched and uneven in some places.
