The 175 acre Crescent Bend Nature Park in northeast Bexar County contains multiple habitats that include aquatic and riparian zones as well as woodlands and savannas. It is located in the floodplain of Cibolo Creek where houses were severely damaged from record floods in the late 1990’s. The houses have since been removed from the area which is now returning to its natural state. Over 230 species of birds have been reported in the park that also features two bird blinds and a 1.3 mile nature trail. Participants will carpool from an area just south of Austin. See website at: http://www.bexar.org/1933/Crescent-Bend-Nature-Park. Limited to 12 people. Contact Deb Wallace at firstname.lastname@example.org to register. Registration is required.
