FIELD TRIP: Two hour Tuesday at Mills Pond Park with Dan Callaway

7:30 am – 9:30 am

The Mills Pond Park includes a lovely pond that is surrounded by a wooded walking trail in the middle of the Lakes at Wells Branch subdivision in north Austin. As a greenspace with water in the midst of urban development, it is attractive to wildlife. Birds are present year-round. Neotropical migrants pass through in April and May on their way north and in September on their way south.

Directions: There is a short unnamed street off of Wells Port Drive (between Waterway Bend and Rick Whinery Drive) that ends at a circular parking area within the park with 15 spaces. The address on the sign for the park is 15108 Wells Port Drive. There is street parking available on Wells Port Drive if the designated parking area is full.

No registration required. For more information, please contact Deb Wallace at apeld@austin.rr.com.
