FIELD TRIP: Two hour Tuesday at Richard Moya Park with Ken Zaslow

8:00 AM – 10:00 AM

We will visit this 100 acre park on Onion Creek in southeastern Travis County at a time of transition. Summer residents are leaving, winter residents are arriving, and southbound migrants could still be passing through. The habitat is varied with stands of mature Pecan and Oak trees, open grassy areas, and a long stretch of Onion Creek. Two miles of hike and bike trail will offer us easy access. Directions: From Hwy 183 heading south, turn left at a traffic light onto Burleson Road. Travel east for approximately 1.3 miles and turn right into the park. Park in the large paved parking lot between the two multi-use playing fields on the right. The following url has links to a map of the park.
