McKinney Falls State Park Field Trip Led by Dennis Palafox

8:00 AM – 10:30 AM

As part of Travis Audubon’s State Park field trip series we will be visiting McKinney Falls State Park on October 27.  Less than 12 miles south of the Texas capitol building, McKinney Falls State Park covers 682 acres of land at the confluence of Onion and Williamson creeks. According to eBird, 244 bird species have been reported year-round, with 168 species during fall migration months. We will bird along well-developed trails through woodland and riparian areas and along Onion Creek. The trail difficulty is rated as “easy” and is accessible by strollers and wheelchairs. We will meet at the park at 8:00 am and will bird until 10:30 am.

Registration is required for this trip, and further details will be provided to registrants prior to the trip date. Registration is limited to 12 participants. There is a $6 fee to enter the park unless you have a State Park pass.
