Morning Canyon Crawl

Join us from 8:00 until 11:00 AM for a leisurely hike of the Sanctuary with emphasis on the history of Chaetura Canyon, plants, geology, birds, habitat restoration and (of course) Chimney Swifts!

The trails are well-developed but moderately strenuous.  Some of the lower ones are steep with many steps down and then back up again – not recommended for people with balance or breathing problems or children under seven years of age.

Sturdy shoes or boots are required for the tour (no sandals, flip-flops or flats!). A walking stick, binoculars, notebook and a water bottle are recommended.  Walking sticks are available for loan.  Cameras are also welcome, but we do ask that you put your cell phones on “vibrate” while on the trails.

Note cards, T-shirts, native plants, limited edition prints by Georgean Kyle, and other merchandise will be available for purchase. All fees, donations and purchases benefit the maintenance of Chaetura Canyon. Registrants will receive directions to the property and more info via email the week of the event.

The fee is $10.00 per person and includes snacks, water, coffee, tea and other beverages as well as some breakfast sweets from Georgean’s kitchen.

The morning event is limited to 10 participants, so register ASAP!
