Morning Canyon Crawl at Chaetura Canyon

These events are scheduled for the second Saturday of the month in May through September from 8:00 – 10:00 AM. A guided tour will emphasize the history of Chaetura Canyon, plants, geology, birds, habitat restoration and (of course) Chimney Swifts!

Feel free to bring breakfast bars or snacks.  Water and soft drinks will be provided.  We will begin with a short orientation, and then hit the trails.

Trails are well-developed, but some of the lower ones are steep with many steps and moderately difficult.  Sturdy shoes or boots, a walking stick, binoculars and a water bottle are recommended.  Walking sticks and binoculars are available for loan.  Cameras are also welcome, but we do ask that you put your cell phones on “vibrate” while on the trails.

This event is free to TAS members and their guests, but donations to Travis Audubon for Chaetura Canyon are encouraged.   Note cards, t-shirts, limited edition prints and TAS merchandise will be available for purchase.  All donations and purchases benefit the maintenance of and projects at Chaetura Canyon.

Further details will be emailed to registrants prior to the event. For questions, please contact
