Reimers Ranch Park Wild Weekday Bird Walk

7:30 AM – 9:30 AM

Held on the third Wednesday of most months, park staff member (and excellent birder) Jeffrey Jackson and TAS field trip leaders will lead a 2-3 mile birding walk. Expect to see birds in a variety of habitats; in the winter there are many wintering sparrows, and in the spring/fall Reimers is a great location to see migrants.

All levels of birders are welcome. Bring binoculars and drinking water, and wear sturdy shoes and a hat.

The walks begin at 7:30 am and will last for approximately 2 hours. ADA-accesssible bathrooms are located near the Pavilion parking lot and other parking areas have porta-potties. The majority of trails are level, with packed granite gravel, with some areas of pavement. However some walks may include the river area which has a steep hill to descend and climb. The river trails can be narrow and uneven. About 48 hours before the walk, registrants will be sent details of the meet up point and will be notified if the walk has to be cancelled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.  If you have questions about the walk, contact jeff.jackson810@gmail.com

The entrance fee into the park is $5.00 per person, $3.00 for anyone 62 and older, and free for disabled veterans and children 12 years and younger. **THE PARK ONLY ACCEPTS CASH.** Reservations to enter the park are not required nor accepted. The park may reach full capacity early in the day, especially on weekends and holidays. Visit the park website before going to make sure it has not closed to additional entrants:  https://parks.traviscountytx.gov/parks/reimers-ranch/
