Round Rock Bird Walk: Brushy Creek East Trail

7:30 AM – 9:00 AM

Join Round Rock Parks and Recreation and Travis Audubon on a monthly bird walk through the City of Round Rock’s extensive park system! The parks host a surprising diversity of bird life, with approximately 250 species recorded. Watch for migrating warblers along Brushy Creek, scope out abundant waterfowl wintering at Old Settlers Park, search for sparrows at Rock Hollow Park and encounter your favorite backyard birds throughout Round Rock.

These walks will take place at a single predetermined park, depending on the season and local distribution of birds. All parks have easily accessible parking and a combination of paved trails and smooth, gently sloping terrain. Restrooms are only present at some facilities. There are no park fees. Bring binoculars, water, supportive shoes and sun protection.

Walks are open to birders of any experience level and will be tailored to those in attendance. Registation is free but required, as there is a maximum of 15 participants.

Join Erik Sauder for this month’s bird walk along Brushy Creek East Trail on Monday, August 19th from 7:30-9:00 AM. This riparian greenbelt has many tall trees providing much-needed shade this time of year. The walk is entirely paved and approximately 2 miles. Early fall migrants may begin to make an appearance, along with the typical woodland residents.

Parking is along the street on Collingwood Dr. (linked here). Bathrooms are NOT available at this site.

Please bring plenty of water and sun protection!

More information will be sent to registrants prior to event date.
