Ruffled Feathers Book Club: Mind of the Raven

Do you like to read? Do you like birds? Are you a member of Travis Audubon?

Then we have just the thing for you! Travis Audubon has started a new book club with an emphasis on books about birds, birding, nature and conservation. Please come!

Join us on Sunday, November 19th from 2-4 pm for our next meeting.
For this session, we are going to revisit an excellent avian science classic, Mind of the Raven: Investigations and Adventures with Wolf-Birds, by noted natural history author Bernd Heinrich. Please come prepared for discussion!

“An amazing book…a scientist and naturalist of the first rank…a nature writer of uncommon talent.”–Edward O. Wilson

“Heinrich has a rare ability to embed dense scientific explications within graceful, lightfooted nature writing.”–David Quammen, New York Times Book Review

“Heinrich brings alive the romance of field research…A splendid book.”–Library Journal
Ruffled Feathers Book Club will meet in Travis Audubon’s Training Center on the second floor of the AGE building at 3710 Cedar St. in central Austin. You must read the book prior to the meeting. Please RSVP to Jordan Price, Travis Audubon’s Director of Administration & Membership to let us know that you will be attending. His email address is membership@travisaudubon.org.
