Birds are incredible creatures and Travis Audubon recently honored our feathered friends by hosting a bird-inspired tattoo contest. We received 107 local entries from tattoo artists and people who had been inked. Our award ceremony was at Austin’s Haymaker Sports Bar. The grand prize for the contest went to Austin-based tattoo artist James Hall. He sent us a short email describing his experience with the contest:
I think this event was great! Many memberships were awarded, and consequently many people, myself included, learned what Travis Audubon was all about. I grew up in the outdoors and from a young age tried my best to help birds, bees and trees! I always encourage others to do the same and think about their impact within the world around them. Although small in the big picture, every person can help whether by volunteering or simply cleaning up trash in the outdoors. Travis Audubon is a great way to do so and I again appreciate their effort to bring people together and educate during this recent event.
