The cool wet spring has produced and abundance of wild flowers. Pinks and yellows and blues and reds and whites all combine to give the pastures a wonderful carper to color. Let’s hope the cool and the wet continue to keep it nice.
We have some of our summer birds starting to show up too. Cattle Egret, White-eyed Vireo, Barn Swallows and Scissor-tailed Flycatchers are back. In addition to these we found Barred and Great-horned Owls, Pileated Woodpeckers and yes, spots on the Spotted Sandpipers.
Cricket Frogs made their spring debut by coming out and briefly giving a chorus. We also found a variety of turtles that came out to get some sun.
There were numerous Damselflies and a few moths.
Of course the company was as colorful as the flowers. Today we thank Sharon Richardson, Peg Gavin, Stacey Bucklin, Margaret Mills, Mona, Mehdy, Wilda Campbell, John Barr, Bob West, Bobby Hughes, Ron Armbruster and Jeff Richardson. Thanks for the great spring day
