Comments: EPISODE 115: I know Jack Frost
He visited us this morning and helped us get the day started. He also brought his friend Foggy. I have pictures to prove it. The very chilly and foggy morning gave way once the sun came up and we had a beautiful day for river floating.
Yes we saw Pileated Woodpeckers. Yes, we saw Barred Owl. Yes, we saw a Green Kingfisher. I always like to mention them. We also found a variety of winter newcomers like native sparrows, Yellow-rumped warblers, Cedar Waxwing and Northern Flicker to round out our list of 39 species.
In the other critter department we found a variety of turtles, a lone Cottonmouth and one squirrel came out to bark at us.
Jack Frost, Foggy, Stacy Bucklin, Lydia Deal, Karen Pernell, Stuart Bailey, CR Smith, Denis Breining, and Bob West helped us enjoyed a beautiful day on the river. Thanks for the help.
