Comments: EPISODE 108: Colorado River Nature Watching — Pretty Cool

If I said we found all three Kingfisher species that would be pretty cool. If I said we found fledgeling Great-horned Owls being overseen by a parent that would be pretty cool. If I said we found a Bald Eagle that would be pretty cool. If I said we found Spotted Gar spawning that would be pretty cool. If I said we found a string of baby Wood Ducks trailing behind their mother that would be pretty cool. If I said we found migrating species like Balitmore Orioles that would be pretty cool. If I said we found lingering winter birds like Gadwall and Cedar Waxwing as well and summer species like Yellow-billed cuckoo and Red-eyed Vireo that would be pretty cool. To find all that on the same day — way cool.

We found a load of great birds today. It was an interesting mix of the lingering winter birds as well as some of our summer favorites. Throw in a few migrants and you get a list of 64 species.

In addition to all this there were cricket frogs, turtles and snakes all around. Flowers are blooming and the butterflies, dragonflies and damsel flies were plentiful Time to get out and enjoy nature.

We could not have gotten all this done without a great group of nature enthusiast. Today we had Joan bishop, Linda williams, Stacvey bucklin, Cheryl Lockett, Sharon Richardson, Wilda Campbell, Debbie Sharp, Steve Mackey, Bobby Hughes, Jeff richardson, Bob West John Barr. A big thank yu to everyone for making this a wonderful day.

Looks like I got some sunblock on the lens of my camera late in the day. Several later photos have an unusual glow.
