The fourteenth Chimney Swift tower at Baker was installed by Maya Casner, Amy Chiti, Alexis Kvinta, and Greta Lerche (with help from their folks) of Girl Scout Troop 1472 for their Silver Award. Since the young women began the planning process in February while still in 8th grade, the tower also has the distinction of being constructed by the youngest scout group to date. Dubbed the ‘Pink Widow’ (due to the presence of a helpful black widow that was hiding in the nesting chamber), this tower is a welcome addition to the preserve. Many thanks to Troop 1472 for their fantastic job!
