Travis Audubon Past President and friend of Julia Marsden
Julia Marsden loved nature, she loved birds, native plants, bumble bees and butterflies – all of it. She shared this love with Travis Audubon as a member of the Board of Directors and as an investor in projects. She was a skilled birder and for the years that she shared with her husband, they birded in many places. While she lived in Austin she was involved in several organizations, but she so enjoyed her time and investments in Travis Audubon. The three sanctuaries were of special interest since they were saving bird habitat and were platforms for people to learn about birds and how to protect them. I have enjoyed many outings with Julia, but I also knew of her very quiet donations to support these sanctuaries. Julia did not want attention drawn to her gifts, but they were so key to many efforts.
She will be missed for her joyful presence, her modesty and her love for protecting birds and all nature.
