Rarities Found This Week:
- A Red-necked Phalarope was photographed at Hornsby Bend on 10/5, successful reports came in on 10/6.
- A White-tailed Hawk was photographed south of Granger on CR417- just northeast of Taylor. This is a very nice Williamson County find.
- A Sanderling was photographed at Bob Wentz/Windy Point Park in western Travis County on 10/5.
- Hornsby Bend has had a Bronzed Cowbird mixed in with the Brown-headed Cowbirds and a Vermilion Flycatcher on the west side of Pond 2.
- Sunset Valley had a Vermilion Flycatcher on 10/7 in Travis County.
- A Tennessee Warbler was at Devine Lake in Williamson County 10/10.
Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centered from the Capitol in downtown Austin. Bird sightings mentioned here have been filtered and scrutinized by the compiler and are believed to be genuine. When documentation or photographs were provided that is mentioned, along with the other information about the bird(s) being seen.
