8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Join Andy Filtness and Jane Tillman at Windy Point. Besides its claim to fame for migrating shorebirds, terns and gulls, it has breeding Painted Buntings, delightful Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, and Scissor-tailed Flycatchers and the usual suspects like chickadees, titmice and cardinals.
Be prepared to walk a mile and a half or so. We will walk on crushed granite trails, paved roads, and out to the sandy island and possibly the rocky point. If you can’t stay until 11 that is ok. Your car won’t be too far away. Bring a scope if you have one. Further details will be sent to registrants closer to the date.
Registration is free but required, and limited to 10 participants.
Bob Wentz Windy Point is in west Austin See the bird list here.
Admission Fee: $5 for adults, $3 for seniors. Cash only. Often it is not collected. Restrooms/porta-potties available.
