Why We Love Them
“This little owl has, so far, been able to adapt to urban areas pretty well. With more folks moving to Texas everyday and the increase in developement of rural areas, this little bird would be a great ambassador for bird education and the importance of conservation as well as how the things you do in your backyard affect not only birds, but all wildlife. I can see this owl being a ‘spark bird’ for many folks. “

“The Eastern Screech-Owl excels in both appeal and accessibility. Most people in Central Texas will hear Screech-Owls at night wherever they live, and the owls readily move into owl houses where they can be both heard and seen.”
– Jim D.
“That little whinny in the night always makes us laugh! And when you actually spot one it’s so special. “
– Erin M.
“Mysterious and controls the varmint population in Austin and Central Texas. Great education for Texas residents about poison and why NOT to use this so that we protect our owls. “
– Ashley F.
“Adorable, incredible, and draws attention to the need for reducing light pollution.”
