Representatives of Travis Audubon had the opportunity yesterday to meet with Travis County Judge Andy Brown to discuss how Travis County can help ensure that the proposed Dog’s Head development becomes a model for environmental stewardship if the County joins the project. Attending on behalf of Travis Audubon were President Shelia Hargis, Advocacy Chair Maura Powers, Board Member Paul DiFiore, and Travis Audubon member Jen Bristol, who also serves on the City of Austin Environmental Commission. Travis Audubon appreciates Judge Brown’s willingness to meet and discuss these important issues. As planning for Dog’s Head continues, the organization looks forward to working collaboratively with Travis County, the City of Austin, and the development team to ensure that this significant project reflects the community’s commitment to protecting the Colorado River corridor, conserving wildlife habitat, and creating a development that serves both people and nature for generations to come.
