We are thrilled to welcome Kainoa Lee to our team as our new Blair Woods Land Steward.
Kainoa is a graduate of Texas State University where he studied Wildlife Biology and worked in species management in the San Marcos River. He is very excited about working to improve the quality of the habitats and volunteer opportunities at Blair Woods. He hopes that people can see the various benefits of native plants and become inspired to bring them into their own landscapes.
Kainoa loves to go backpacking, hiking, kayaking, and rock climbing. Recently he has been learning to fish and identify the Texas native fish.
The Blair Woods Land Steward will manage the preserve to promote desired native plant growth, remove and/or treat non-native and native invasive plant species, propagate desired native plant species, maintain trails, grounds, and facilities, coordinate and lead volunteer workdays, and act as a liaison with the Blair Woods Core Team and Austin Wildlife Rescue.
