What a party – and what a special Conservation Hero! The 7th Annual Victor Emanuel Conservation Award Luncheon was held for a sold-out crowd at the Austin Country Club October 8th.

Every Victor Emanuel Luncheon is special. But this year’s event honored Valarie Bristol, a woman who has been central to so many conservation efforts throughout Texas – including the creation of the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve — that she drew four standing ovations!

Valarie’s many friends and family, representing her extraordinary work as Travis County Commissioner; Director for Texas, Trust for Public Lands; The Nature Conservancy of Texas; the Board of the Eanes ISD; and President of the Board of Travis Audubon, were there to cheer her on.
