Comments: EPISODE 109: The Big Scour

Imagine if you will a landscape void of flowers. Also imagine that landscape having bent and broken grasses, shrubs and other vegetation. That is pretty much the scene we had this day. The force of the floods has ripped much of the vegetation from the banks in some areas. It will take a while for this to heal itself.

That does not seem to have impacted the birding though. Some of our better species for the day include Peregrine Falcon, Anhinga, Ringed Kingfisher and two owl species. We also found a nice collection of Prothonotary Warblers to round out our list at 47.

Butterflies and damselflies were everywhere. We found plenty of water snakes, turtles and cricket frogs were out.

We had a great group helping with the effort.
