Here’s a clip of one of our members, Lily Rerecich, giving a spirited defense of the Ashe Juniper tree.

Many people testified Thursday in the Land and Resource Management Committee against Representative Troxclair’s House Bill 3798 to exempt Ashe Junipers (aka “Cedars”) from municipal ordinances regulating their removal.  The Ashe Juniper is vital to Golden-cheeked Warbler habitat. A companion Senate Bill 1927 has cleared the Senate already. As these bills progress, we may ask warbler supporters to contact their representatives.
