Mickey Burleson is a name every Texan should know. Mickey and her late husband Bob are among Texas’ original environmentalists. Together they brought attention to the plight of native prairies and worked tirelessly to restore this imperiled ecosystem. For her tremendous contributions to the conservation of Texas’ birds and their habitats, Mickey received Travis Audubon’s 2017 Victor Emanuel Conservation Award on October 14th. We are pleased to share this video honoring Mickey and her accomplishments. The fight to protect vulnerable habitats continues and Mickey is inspiration to all of us: go make a difference!
